William C. Wilson is Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the University of California San Diego Medical School, as well as Director of Anesthesiology Critical Care and Associate Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center. He is also Associate Editor of the journal TraumaCare.

Dr. Wilson has published extensively and lectured nationally and internationally on nearly every topic related to trauma resuscitation anesthesia and critical care. Notably, Dr. Wilson is an internationally recognized expert on trauma airway management, respiratory gas exchange, thoracic anesthesia, and monitoring.

Dr. Wilson, has authored nearly 100 peer-reviewed papers, abstracts, and book chapters. He has edited 2 textbooks, and numerous monographs.

Dr. Wilson received the M.D. degree from Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and completed three years of general surgical training and a critical care fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, in addition to a residency in anesthesiology and a fellowship in cardiothoracic anesthesia at the University of California, San Diego.

Christopher M. Grande, Traumacare International, Baltimore, MD, USA Christopher M. Grandeis Executive Director of the International TraumaCare (ITACCS), Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Grande has directed numerous large-scale international symposia, and has been an active member of the scientific and organizing committees of many national and international meetings of other learned societies.

He has been invited to testify before committees of the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives, and at the National Academy of Sciences, Institute of Medicine. Dr. Grande has published extensively in the area of trauma anesthesia and critical care, having authored more than 100 articles, chapters, and reviews, and has edited more than 20 books and monographs.

David B. Hoyt, UC Irvine Medical Center, Irvine, CA, USA

David B. Hoyt is the John E. Connolly Professor and Chairman, Department of Surgery, at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center, Irvine, California.

He is a member of many prestigious surgical organizations including the American Surgical Association, the Surgical Biology Club, the Western Surgical Association, and the Society of University Surgeons. He served as President of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, the Society of General Surgeons of San Diego, and the Shock Society.

He is the Past Chairman of the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, and is currently the President of the Panamerican Trauma Society. He has been a visiting professor at a large number of institutions nationally and internationally and is an editorial board member of six journals.

Dr. Hoyt has consistently received significant public research funding throughout his career. He received the M.D. degree from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, and completed surgical training at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center. He is the author of over 420 publications.
