Serge Gauthier is Director of the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Unit, Professor of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, and Medicine, and Associate Member School of Physical and Occupational Therapy, McGill Centre for Studies in Aging, Verdun; and Senior Scientist of the Medical Research Council/Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Canada Health Program, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Dr. Gauthier received his M.D. from the University of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Dr. Gauthier has received several notable awards, including the Galien Award and the Canadian College of Neuropsychopharmacology Innovations in Neuropsychopharmacology Award. Dr. Gauthier is also the editor of numerous other Informa Healthcare titles, including Vascular Cognitive Impairment; Clinical Diagnosis and Management of Alzheimer's Disease, Third Edition; Trial Designs and Outcomes in Dementia Therapeutic Research; and the first edition of Management of Dementia.

Clive Ballard is Professor of Biomedical and Health Sciences, King’s College, London, UK. His primary areas of research include investigating genetic and neurochemical approaches to dementia. Dr. Ballard currently works with a team of professors, research associates, and students to explore the key symptoms in people with dementia and determine the mechanisms underlying dementia to develop new treatments. His team particularly emphasizes non-Alzheimer’s dementia such as those related to stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, and Downs Syndrome.
